Christian's basement is one of those places that makes you rethink how you're living life. Go see it. Better yet, stay there, and don't make any plans while you do.

Chris' place is the real life BatCave. It is SO COOL. Seriously, the ambiance is one of a kind here. It is clear that Chris has put his heart and soul into designing this place, and it is really cool to stay in this beautiful work of art. The features are really neat: projector, tub, bathroom, floors, table, beds... Yowza, the list goes on. Chris is super responsive, and was a fabulous host. The location is excellent: everything is walkable from here, and the neighborhood is beautiful. Would recommend to all aspiring super heroes, and anyone looking for a cool place to stay.

We had a great stay at Christian's getaway. He was a wonderful host and the space is really something special. You can tell he put a lot of thought into the design. We stayed for a week with it there year old son who loved the drop down table! The sliding glass partitions let you isolate parts of the space and are a pretty good sound barrier if you have a sleeping toddler. We had a wonderful time in Halifax. Thanks Christian!

We had a great time here - what an amazing project Christian has achieved - watching Apple TV from the indoor jacuzzi was a first! And the piano was great too! Every need was thoughtfully considered by the host. Close to the town centre, a relaxed and secure part of town, a great artisan market a few minutes walk away, what's not to like!

Chris was a GREAT host and his home was *****!!! In advance of going (and also while in residence) Chris answered all of our questions throughly and promptly. His eco friendly and high tech home exceeded expectations. Any pre-conceived opinions you might have about being in a basement space ... throw out the window. The 9 foot high ceilings, multiple windows and 2 entry doors make it feel like its located on the main level of a home. The high quality beds, delightfully comfortable sheets, 10 foot wide entertainment screen, combined with the largest sofa I've ever seen and a hottub for 6 IN THE UNIT were fun, useful and made us feel if we were staying at an exclusive resort! His collection of Halifax brochures, eating recommendations and 3 bikes available for our exclusive use (there were 3 of us staying in the unit) were all appreciated and helpful. Thanks Chris! We'll be back!!!
